| Sumario: | This article aims to identify some of the main challenges for the teaching of Stochastics — Statistics, Probability and Combinatorics — in Brazilian Basic Education (elementary and high school), which serves students aged from six to seventeen years, from the curricular reform, triggered by the publication of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), in 2018, and the training of teachers who teach Mathematics. We seek to highlight possible weaknesses in initial and continuing education in the field of Stochastics, in the face of new educational demands. It is a qualitative research, of a bibliographic and documentary nature, which analyzes official documents that guide basic education and recently published research, which characterize the difficulties faced and point to alternatives for the promotion of literacy, reasoning and stochastic thinking. At the end, we present some proposals that can contribute to achieving the central objectives of Stochastic education, in line with the BNCC. |
