Description
Summary:An statistical analysis about the influence of the Emotional Intelligence competences defined by Goleman in the Transformational Leadership of Bass and Avolio is done by applying the MLQ 5X short to evaluate Transformational Leadership and ESCI for evaluate Emotional Intelligence in a sample of 31 leaders of the chemical industry in Medellin-Colombia. Positive Outlook (p=0,006) and Organizational Awareness (p=0,0008) (Emotional Intelligence competences) has a high significance in Idealized Influence (Attributed) with 0,51 R2; Coach and Mentoring (p=0.0003) has significance in idealized Influence (Behavioral) (R2=0,4); Positive Outlook (p=4,5e-6) has high influence in Inspirational Motivation (R2=0,52); Influence (p=0,01) is meaningful for Intellectual Stimulation (R2=0,18) and Inspirational Leadership (p=0,006) and Team Work (p=0,03) are meaningful for Individualized Consideration (R2=0,39). However, the sample has a Normal distribution behavior, in some cases does not accomplish the homoscedasticity test and owing that the linear regression is not the best analysis to be done and other models should be used in order to explain better the relationship among the emotional intelligence competences (independent variables) and transformational leadership (dependent variables). Is clear that Emotional Intelligence competences has a strong influence in Transformational Leadership but is necessary to make new researches and include other behaviors in order to better understanding of Transformational Leadership.
