Descrição
Resumo:This article is an excerpt from my research on the publishing history of Mein Kampf, by Adolf Hitler, in Brazil. In this paper, we investigate its production, circulation and reception in the country in September 1934, by Editora Globo, in Porto Alegre/RS. Until August 1942, when the work was banned by President Getulio Vargas, seven editions were printed. Much of the little that is known about the national launch of Mein Kampf is recorded in sparse and often discordant news in periodicals of the time and reference works. Bring to light the details of this story will fill a gap in the book studies.
