This research studies the role of the 1950 World Cup in three of these texts, originally published in 1958, 1959 and 1977. The analysis was carried out through the Narratology and the actantial model of Greimas, lining off narrative places used.DOI: 10.21204/2359-375X/ancora.v3n2p251-271A Copa do Mundo de Futebol de 1950, realizada no Brasil, foi marcada pelo Maracanazo, a derrota da seleção brasileira para o Uruguai na final. Presente na memória do jornalismo esportivo, Nelson Rodrigues utiliza o campeonato em suas crônicas jornalísticas escritas posteriormente. Esta pesquisa estuda o papel da Copa de 1950 em três destes textos, publicados originalmente em 1958, 1959 e 1977.
