| Sumario: | My purpose in this article is to bring for a place of proeminence Nelson Rodrigues' chronicles about football, with the defense of their “immortality” contrary to a common view that sees them (as crônicas) as mere appendix of the rodriguean renowed work. I do this based on Kant´s aesthetics, for whom beauty is something that gives much to think about, always provoking new reflections, since no explanation can fully comprehend the beautiful form and the rich material of the work of art. In two stages I defend the “immortal” character of Nelson Rodrigues' sports chronicle: first I show that the form of writing present in all his work (his non-sports chronicle, the novels and the theater) also runs through his texts about football, making them have, besides a specific subject matter (football) an aesthetic form, that by itself generates enchantment with the work; and in the second stage (2), I state that the subject of his sports chronicles, football, brings with it a rich aesthetic material, since it comes to be understood from its fundamental trait, its inexplicability, decisive for sustaining the immortal character of Nelson Rodrigues’ chronicle about football. |
