The actions of this character gave rise not only to curiosity but also to a popular memory made up of myths and legends centered on the figure of men who were considered outlaws . More specifically, in this dissertation, we seek to understand how the image of an outlaw gunman has become a myth that remains alive in the memory of a group of people who live in the city of Três Lagoas, and to identify the context where this transformation occurred, how it manifests itself and the subjects involved in this dynamicsNo fim da década de 1950 e início da década de 1960, a cidade de Três Lagoas foi palco de curiosas e instigantes passagens que envolveram a atuação do pistoleiro Antonio Joaquim Aragão, popularmente conhecido por Camisa de Couro . Muito além de instigantes, as ações desse personagem dariam origem à criação de uma memória popular de mitos e lendas em torno de figuras de homens considerados fora-da-lei .
