To this end, 682 posts made by the 26 city councils of Brazilian capitals, in the period of fifteen days, from June 1, 2022 to the 15th of the same month, a period containing the restrictions of the electoral period, were considered. Content analysis was used from an adapted codebook. A professionalization was noticed on the communication based on the form of the publications, with videos produced by specialized teams. Regarding content, broadcasts of lives and journalistic reports stand out, alongside committee meetings.Neste artigo, são discutidas as características do uso do YouTube no âmbito dos legislativos municipais, perpassando questões sobre o tema, o quantitativo de publicações, os tipos de vídeos e a perspectiva de engajamento, a partir das visualizações e curtidas apresentadas. Para isso, foram consideradas 682 postagens, realizadas pelas 26 câmaras municipais das capitais brasileiras, no período de quinze dias, de 1º de junho de 2022 até o dia 15 do mesmo mês, período contendo as restrições do período eleitoral. Foi utilizada a análise de conteúdo através de um livro de códigos adaptado. Percebeu-se uma profissionalização na comunicação a partir da forma das publicações, com vídeos produzidos por equipes especializadas.
