Despite such absence, the adoption of rhyme achieved different effects in each of the translated texts, whether in highlighting rhythmic elements of the original or in bringing together aesthetic elements of the target language. Following each passage, there is a brief commentary in which the motivations or criteria used in each exercise are explained.Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar traducciones poéticas de extractos de las obras de los poetas latinos Virgilio, Horacio, Fedro y Marcial. En éstos, la principal preocupación estética era acomodar el original latino a un recurso estilístico ausente en la versificación latina pero central en la portuguesa: la rima. A pesar de tal ausencia, la adopción del ritmo logró efectos diferentes en cada uno de los textos traducidos, ya sea resaltando elementos rítmicos del original o reuniendo elementos estéticos del idioma de destino. A continuación de cada pasaje, hay un breve comentario en el que se explican las motivaciones o los criterios utilizados en cada ejercicio.O presente artigo visa apresentar traduções poéticas de excertos das obras dos poetas latinos Virgílio, Horácio, Fedro e Marcial. Nestas, a principal preocupação estética foi acomodar o original latino a um recurso de estilo ausente na versificação latina mas central na versificação em português: a rima. A despeito de tal ausência, a adoção da rima alcançou efeitos diversos em cada um dos textos traduzidos, quer na evidenciação de elementos rítmicos do original, quer na aproximação com elementos estéticos da língua de chegada.
