Outside the Penal Code there is a single environmental crime, in Section 9 of Law No. 17,220, of November 11, 1999, which regulates the introduction of hazardous wastes. In this article the author will analyze the concept of environmental crimes, its characteristics, and an analysis of the aforementioned Bill, providing the experiences of the author, as co-editor of the original version sent by the Executive Branch to the Parliament.Actualmente el Código Penal uruguayo no prevé un título específico sobre los delitos ambientales, donde se tipifiquen delitos cuyo bien jurídico protegido sea el ambiente. Sin embargo, esta realidad podría cambiar en unos meses de aprobarse el Proyecto de Ley sobre delitos ambientales, que cuenta con media sanción al haber sido aprobado por la Cámara de Senadores. Fuera del Código Penal existe un único delito ambiental, previsto en el artículo 9 de la Ley Nº 17.220, de 11 de noviembre de 1999, que prevé el delito de introducción de desechos peligrosos. En el presente artículo se analizará el concepto de delitos ambientales, sus características, y un análisis sobre el referido Proyecto de Ley, aportando las experiencias del autor como corredactor de la versión original del referido Proyecto de Ley remitida por el Poder Ejecutivo al Parlamento.Atualmente o Código Penal Uruguaio não prevê um título específico sobre crimes ambientais, onde são classificados os crimes cujo bem jurídico protegido é o meio ambiente. Porém, essa realidade poderá mudar em alguns meses caso seja aprovado o Projeto de Lei sobre crimes ambientais, que conta com meia sanção tendo sido aprovado pelo Senado. Fora do Código Penal existe um único crime ambiental, previsto no artigo 9º da Lei nº 17.220, de 11 de novembro de 1999, que dispõe sobre o crime de introdução de resíduos perigosos. Este artigo analisará o conceito de crimes ambientais, suas características e uma análise do referido Projeto de Lei, fornecendo as experiências do autor como coeditor da versão original do referido Projeto de Lei enviado pelo Poder Executivo ao Parlamento.application/pdftext/htmlspaUniversidad de Montevideo.
