The field work was carried out in the ravines along the northern slope of the Popocatepetl volcano (Figure 1) and on the northern slopes of the Iztaccihuatl volcano (Figure 2), aimed at determining the dendrochronological potential of various conifer species and their response to climate phenomena and volcanic and geomorphologic processes.En el presente trabajo se exponen los materiales y métodos de campo utilizados en dendrocronología, aplicados al estudio de fenómenos de la Geografía Física relacionados con las geoformas y el clima. A través de diferentes rutas realizadas durante poco más de una década (2006 a 2017) en la Sierra Nevada, podemos observar los distintos escenarios ambientales que tuvimos la oportunidad de conocer y muestrear.
