Sumario:The job aspirations use to be influenced by multiple factors, some of which are analyzed in this study. By means of a questionnaire and a single interview, 120 students with average age 18.4 years coming from three different schools took part in this research. The research dealt with the job aspirations of teenagers, the reasons for their preferences, the requirements to perform their favorite activity and the information sources about their knowledge of the world of professional practice. The results show that teenagers aspire to practice professions in already saturated areas, that they are confused about the requirements for professional practice and that their preference is based on the liking and interest they have in it. Amongst their information sources, the most important are the parents and relatives, and at school teachers and colleagues. Another factor in their job aspirations is the context from which they proceed. These elements are analyzed around several psychological aspects that are involved and the educational implications that those entail.
