Este estudio analiza la relación entre estas habilidades en estudiantes de tercer año de la Escuela de Educación Básica Luis Alberto Valencia, en Ecuador. A través de un enfoque mixto con alcance descriptivo, se aplicaron pruebas diagnósticas, observaciones a clases y encuestas a docentes para identificar dificultades en la interpretación de enunciados matemáticos y la selección de estrategias de resolución. Los resultados evidenciaron bajos niveles de comprensión inferencial y crítica, dificultades en la identificación de datos relevantes y un escaso uso de estrategias metacognitivas. Ante esta problemática, se diseñó e implementó una propuesta didáctica basada en la aplicación de tarjetas de problemas matemáticos con imágenes en material concreto, validada por especialistas en Matemática, Lenguaje y Neurodidáctica. La validación confirmó su pertinencia, relevancia y efectividad para mejorar la comprensión lectora y el razonamiento matemático. Se concluye que la integración de metodologías activas y recursos concretos favorece el aprendizaje significativo y la autonomía en la resolución de problemas, destacando la necesidad de fortalecer la
