Thus, through the analisis of statistical official data and theoretical documents, it can be demonstrated that the development of tourisim has not solved the high levels of poverty, unemployment and inequality.En el presente artículo se estudia la instauración de uno de los mayores desarrollos turísticos de Guanacaste, Costa Rica, entre los años 1990-2016, en función de las políticas neoclásicas aplicadas con el fin de generar riqueza y solventar las necesidades sociales.
