The study is based on bibliographic sources but, above all, on documents found in historical archives in Spain and Mexico.El artículo muestra la relación que existió entre Demófilo de Buen Lozano y la masonería. Para lograr este objetivo se exponen datos biográficos, se analiza la participación de Demófilo en la Segunda República española (1931-1939) y en la Guerra Civil (1936-1939), las represalias que sufrió por el bando liderado por Francisco Franco, el proceso que le formó el Tribunal Especial para la Represión de la Masonería y el Comunismo y su exilio definitivo en América.
