Summary:It displays the mediation of information as a fruitful field of study and professional practice in the field of Information Science (IS) and in the informational-librarianship spectrum, related to several other concepts such as information services, information skills, information products, technologies information, information management. Aims to address the theoretical and conceptual and typological perspectives of information mediation, establishing complications with information services, considering investments in mutual desideratum of implicit and explicit mediation. Use as a methodological approach a bibliographic research, establishing dialogue with various literary works such as books and articles on the themes "mediation" and "information services".The results show that there are several possibilities for using implicit and explicit mediation, both for reasons of research on information mediation, and for professional practices in information environments. It was concluded that the relationship between mediation and information services demonstrate the broad technical, educational and institutional character in the IS and in the professional practices in information environments.
