Resumo:In this article, we will take a critical approach to the actions of Itaipu Binacional in regarding the presence of indigenous Avá-Guarani in the area of formation of its dam. We will analyze everything from the denial of the existence of indigenous people in the region to the imposition of expropriation due to the flooding that Itaipu caused in indigenous lands in 1982. Based on documentary reports, reports and letters that were produced by the Indigenous Missionary Council (Cimi) and other bodies indigenists, in addition to the documents “ordered” at the request of Itaipu, we will make the necessary notes for our complaint seeking to understand the established action. We will emphasize the process of organizing the indigenous people in the flooded area and the move to the new area that, after much insistence from the Guarani, Itaipu assigned to them, culminating in the arrival in the new land, tiny and confined between the lake of Itaipu and the agribusiness.
