| Resumo: | Study on the ritual of the Christian baptism in the 19th century Maranhão, detaching its meaning for the involved people in it. Our attentions will be mainly come back toward the referring aspects only the captive population. Following the indications found in the sources of that we made use (baptism registers) too say some considerations on the interpersonal relations that social universe composed, detaching not only the meaning of the compadrio for that social sector, as too the socioeconomicas structures be influencing or same, imposing limits to the choice of the godfathers. |
