| Resumo: | The purpose of this article is to analyze the state of the art regarding theses and dissertations on the identification and referral of students with giftedness or high abilities in the field of Natural Sciences. The study aims to map the procedures adopted, examine the types of identification instruments that have been employed for this purpose, and identify gaps in the literature that may guide future research and educational practices. To this end, we consulted research published in the Capes Theses and Dissertations Database, from 2005 to 2024. The data were analyzed based on the following categories: productions per year, identification of high abilities/giftedness, Natural Sciences area, and identification/indication instrument. The results revealed 36 studies focused on the identification or indication of students with high abilities/giftedness. Specifically in the Natural Sciences area, 9 studies address the topic of high abilities/giftedness, of which only 2 are dedicated to research related to the identification or indication of students with characteristics of high abilities/giftedness in Natural Sciences. This scenario evidences that the topic is still little discussed, giftedness relevance of bringing it to the scientific debate. |
