Resumo:Concern for health promotion via the exercise is not new in Brazil and worldwide. Regular exercise is an important factor to reduce rates of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality from all causes. In this context the maintenance of adequate levels of physical fitness is one of the main goals of any fitness program. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the VO2max of participants in an aerobic activity. The sample test participant was female, mean age 40.5 ± 9.4 years. As a tool, we used the testof Go and Come prosposto by Luc Léger, where the sign of a beep once performed by a student comings and goings in a route of 20 meters to exhaustion. The results show that, for the studied sample, the average VO2max was 31.3 ± 3.0 and that the time taken for completion of the test averaged 3'28 "± 1'31". We conclude that after the completion of the evaluation result showed that the oxygen consumption was high and exhaustion occurred shortly after the start of the test with no good use of the physical condition while conducting these evaluations aims to obtain clinical parameters help meet the state's health evaluated; guide the individualized work; serve as feedback during the training process. Thus programs of physical conditioning should not be construed solely for the purpose of immediately intervene in some major physiological parameters for organic aesthetic and health of the body.
