Resumo:This article aims at analyzing the manifestations of fatalism by young people in poverty. Although significant time lapse of Martín-Baró, there is, at present, elements that support for the dissemination of fatalism while psychosocial phenomenon associatedwith the assignment of the divine will as responsible for the everyday facts. Two focus groups were conducted with young people, with a total of twelve participants of the project Young Apprentice who are in poverty. The manifestations of fatalistic by young people gathered: the belief in success as a result of individual effort and divine; disbelief in social institutions; construction of life purposes connected with personal aspirations; apparent calm; silencing and emotional detachment in the face of unpleasant and uncomfortable situations. Realizes that it is the climate of uncertainty and vagueness of a life marked by poverty which ensures they can strengthen the fatalism and should undertake actions that prove libertarian paths for poor youth.
