Descrição
Resumo:The present work aimed to characterize and analyze the female participation in the Individual Micro Entrepreneur Program (MEI), in order to draw a profile of the formalized woman. Therefore, the work was done based on bibliographic research and applying a form in a Sebrae Service Post, consulting 33 micro entrepreneurs. Through the application of quanti-quali techniques, the following study conclusions stand out: socio-demographically, the profile presented by the interviewees is in line with the profile drawn by other studies. Regarding the MEI Program, the profile verified here differs little from the General Profile of the Micro Entrepreneur, highlighting the greater informality of women before registration and the social security benefits as strong motivators for enrolling in the program. Considering the reasons and barriers faced by them, there was a desire for independence, having as negative aspects the multiplicity of social roles: wife, mother, and owner of a business.
