| Sumario: | In this article, we discuss the presence of cisnormativity in Brazilian school contexts. The objective of this work is to reflect on how education reproduces cisgender norms, understanding transsexuality as a breach of this norm. To do so, we present a brief historical context, showing the relationship with the feminist and LGBTIA+ movements and we explain some aspects of the school environment, which permeate the process of subjectivation, and violence suffered by transgender and transvestite people. The importance of a democratic education that contemplantesdifferent gender identities in its daily practices is highlighted. |
