| Sumario: | Finance theory currently has two main lines of research, the "Modern Finance Theory", structured from some assumptions such as the efficient markets hypothesis, which is based on the rationality of decisions made by market agents. And the "Behavioral Finance", structured from the limited rationality of the decisions of the market agents, which in turn, can cause the occurrence of anomalies – unexpected behavior in asset prices that can be exploited by investors seeking abnormal returns, ie higher than the risks incurred. In this study, we investigated the scientific production on anomalies in the capital market. This is relevant both to the orientation of novice researchers and to providing insight to experienced researchers. We performed a bibliometric analysis from the Scopus database. There were 392 documents identified, 387 journal articles and 5 conference articles. The first work is from the year 1992 and the last is from the year 2018.It was identified a growth of research on the subject from the year 2009, this may be the effect of the global financial crisis that has shed light on some questions about the main paradigms of finance theory. Also, information about the authors, their networks and the law of Lotka (productivity of researchers), institutions, origin of documents, main journals and their networks, Bradford law (journals productivity), information on documents, the main references and law of Zipf (most frequent terms). |
