Resumo:This paper presents a study about the use of a remote monitoring system which aims at helping old people to understand the importance of certain health habits. Besides monitoring some of their signals and data, the system gives access and suggests users videos and other materials. The study involved data collection and analysis with a qualitative approach in the modality of a case study. It has been observed that the tools and methods employed contributed to behavioral changes in participants' health habits and daily care. Data related to their body measurements showed a reduction in fat percentage in all research subjects. The system introduced positive changes in what the health habits of participants are concerned. With the support of the system and the monitoring program implemented, they became more careful with their eating and practice of physical activity.
