| Resumo: | Teaching and learning mathematics in basic education has meant a challenge for teachers, since students are embarrassed to instruct themselves, often not motivated by an extremely mechanical methodology and disconnected from their daily lives. The proposal of this study is to indicate a methodology to teach and learn mathematics through mathematical challenges, using an important approach of educational technologies for teaching mathematics, called problem solving. The field research counted with the participation of 20 students from the computer science technical course of the Instituto Federal de Alagoas - Campus Rio Largo. We believe that performing activities that stimulate and provoke the learner's creativity is the ideal way to teach and learn mathematics. It is hoped that this transformation upon the pedagogical practice of mathematics can effectively contribute to a more dynamic and expressive learning of this subject. |
