| Resumo: | It analyzes the Special Collections existing in Brazilian university, public and specialized libraries in order to identify the documental and conceptual typologies of formation of these collections. Information on the special collections available on the institutional pages of 27 libraries was analyzed, and a descriptive and exploratory research was carried out. From an intentional sample, collections with collections of varied themes were identified, such as art collections, children's collection, among others, in addition to institutional memory collections, local/regional and national, and multimedia collections. In this context, a conceptual model on the formation of special collections according to national practices and perspectives for this type of collection was proposed. |
