Technological platforms are ubiquitous in society and, as such, also in scientific research. If, on the one hand, the qualitative researcher already equipped himself with tools that help him with data analysis, on the other hand, he also began to use different platforms to collect data in qualitative research. However, entering the field is not free from challenges and ethical dilemmas that the researcher must be aware of, even more so with the use of digital platforms in data collection.Este texto parte de la reflexión sobre el uso de WhatsApp y Zoom Meetings na recolha de dados de uma investigação de doutoramento, assente numa abordagem qualitativa que tem como tema a parentalidade digital. Como plataformas tecnológicas están omnipresentes en la sociedad y, como tal, también en la investigación científica. Se por un lado del investigador cualitativo já se munia de ferramentas que o auxiliam na análise de dados, por outro também começou a usar diversas plataformas para a recolha de dados em pesquisas qualitativas. Sin embargo, una entrada en el campo no está libre de desafíos y dilemas éticos a los que el investigador debe estar atento, pero aún así con el uso de plataformas digitales en la recopilación de datos.Este texto parte da reflexão sobre o uso do WhatsApp e do Zoom Meetings na recolha de dados de uma investigação de doutoramento, assente numa abordagem qualitativa que tem como tema a parentalidade digital. As plataformas tecnológicas estão omnipresentes na sociedade e, como tal, também na investigação científica.
