| Sumario: | To identify the economic and social contributions of DAIAG – Agroindustrial District of Aparecida de Goiânia – to the economic growth of the city of Aparecida de Goiânia, research with a qualitative approach, of an exploratory nature, was carried out through a case study, interviews assisted by semi-structured scripts, indirect observation, and document analysis. The results found in the study demonstrate that the economic and social growth of the city of Aparecida de Goiânia was supported by the installation of DAIAG in 1989, since companies in the district promoted an increase in the volume of employment and income for the local population, growth in tax collection, and the resocialization of former inmates of the city's prison system through a program to employ this workforce in DAIAG companies. In the business environment, identified the existence of business cooperation actions was the purpose of creating a cluster in the civil construction segment in the locality, and the existence of programs for the qualification of workers. Since the creation of DAIAG, improvements have been recorded in socioeconomic indicators, such as the growth in average per capita income in the locality, and the increase in the Municipal Human Development Index (HDI-M) of Aparecida de Goiânia. |
