The fundamental claims of the present thesis are: Nietzsche was deeply acquainted with the history of skepticism; his work assumes this tradition in a very innovative manner; Nietzsche not only associated himself instrumentally to skepticism, but tried to incorporate some of the essential commitments of the skeptical life to his understanding of philosophical life.A presente tese tem como objetivo reconstruir o diálogo de Nietzsche com a história do ceticismo através da identificação de suas principais fontes. Este diálogo é muitas vezes intermediado por textos de autores contemporâneos a Nietzsche, razão pela qual o trabalho de reconstrução das fontes não pôde se ater exclusivamente à tradição cética, mas se estendeu com alguma freqüência a autores da tradição pós-kantiana.
