| Resumo: | The article aims to present the criteria developed for the constitution of the historical collection of the Library of the Faculdade de Biblioteconomia e Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Fabico / UFRGS). This experience report intends to record the process of creating the criteria for defining historical items in the context of a university library, taking into account the particularities of its reality and its functions with the academic community. Thus, the trajectory of the Library and the Institution is recorded, in addition to promoting more initiatives towards the development of historical collections in university libraries. |
