| Summary: | The development and consumption practices of global fashion have significant consequences for both the environment and human beings. This investigation aims to explore how the convergence of vernacular design and fashion design can encourage the production and consumption of more sustainable fashion. The principles of vernacular design are related to fashion design, and sustainable proposals are suggested using a literature review and comparative research. The research produced a comparative framework that indicates that the ideas, values, and techniques of vernacular design can be embedded into sustainable fashion proposals for promoting long-term sustainability and human well-being. |
