Therefore, this article aimed at bringing a look beyond the conceptual rules inherent to rural tourism from the sociology point of view, and with it, several elements of the rural tourism setting start to have a crucial role and, naturally, are viewed by visitors at Mergulhão Camp. The methodological approach was through participant observation and field notes. As a result, we realized that the Mergulhão Cologne is not only represented by its rural tourism circuit, but by its immutability and its ability to reinvent itself in the face of the complexity of its own modernity.As reflexões apresentadas decorrem do trabalho de campo junto a Colônia Mergulhão e seu Circuito de Turismo Rural de São José dos Pinhais conhecido como Caminho do Vinho. Nesse sentido, este artigo visou trazer um olhar para além da normatividade conceitual inerente ao turismo rural sob a ótica sociologia e, com isso, diversos elementos do rural passam a ter papel relevante e que, naturalmente, são visualizados pelos visitantes em Mergulhão. O caminho metodológico se deu por meio de observação participante e notas de campo.
