Sumario:This article addresses the experiences of young people who worked as volunteers in a popular course at a public university. It is based on data from research on the trajectories, life contexts, experiences and meanings that these young people attributed to their performance in this university extension experience. The analysis started from the discussion of theoretical references about the Sociology of Youth and social experience. The research methodology was organized into three phases: survey of the documentary corpus of popular courses at the university, application of qualitative questionnaires and semi-structured narrative interviews. Regarding the results, the reports allowed us to understand how the experience at the course had an impact on the young people’s trajectory. As an extension activity, the potential of the project as an educational practice that affected on values, worldviews and professional performance projects was verified.
