Studies carried out in Belo Horizonte, MG, showed the regions which are the most vulnerable to climate change, either because of their higher exposure to impacts, or because of their low resilience. This work proposes the application of tools and methodology based on local technical standards to map, in the Confisco territory, all the points eligible for planting a tree. Through the application of normative guidelines in the software QuantumGIS, the results demonstrated the potential for vegetation densification. This possibility abets the adaptive capacity of the territory that could be expanded with this densification, contributing to the reduction of its vulnerability.Análises relacionadas à capacidade adaptativa dos territórios demonstram que, em geral, as cidades dos países em desenvolvimento não estão preparadas para lidar com as consequências das mudanças climáticas. O déficit de uma infraestrutura verde robusta e integrada aos demais sistemas urbanos é uma realidade e impacta diretamente na qualidade de vida local. Estudos aplicados em Belo Horizonte, MG, evidenciaram as regiões mais vulneráveis às mudanças do clima, seja por sua exposição mais elevada aos impactos, seja por sua baixa capacidade de absorvê-los. Este trabalho propõe a aplicação de ferramentas e metodologia balizada em normativas da Prefeitura Municipal para mapear, no território do Confisco, na regional Pampulha, locais aptos ao plantio de indivíduos arbóreos. Os resultados demonstraram o potencial de adensamento local da vegetação.
