Sumario:The purpose of this work is to describe a strategy of referential elaboration that is not yet well established: the recategorization without anaphoric expression. We consider that a branch of the studies in referenciation has searched to take on, with more intensity, the sociocognitive postulates, which inspire current researches in text linguistics. From this point, there are explanations that speak in favor of the integration among multiple factors in order to elaborate a referent. Consequential to this, we see now that referenciation cannot be related only to the presence of noun phrases. The strategy we describe here contributes to understanding the “enlargement” whereby recategorization has passed since the first studies in the 1990s.
