| Resumo: | This contribution aims to define a picture as simple and linear as possible of the relationships between the thought of Schopenhauer and that of the Latin writer Lucio Anneo Seneca, through the analysis of the citations present in the published Schopenhauerian writings. Although the approach of the philosopher of Gdansk lacks, at times, of philological rigor and, even more often, of contiguity with respect to the context from which the ideas are extrapolated, one can only detect a broad, organic, in-depth knowledge of the work Senecana, towards which she has a sincere admiration, as can be seen from the nature and quantity of the texts cited, as well as from some notations that accompany them. The criterion followed in structuring the contribution is the chronological one, according to which each paragraph is dedicated to the citations contained in a specific Schopenhauerian work. |
