| Sumario: | The research analyses the Mais IDEB Program, developed by the Department of Education of Maranhão State for high school m,athematics and portuguese teachers aiming at teaching improvement. The research is documentary and qualitative, it uses the department database as well as the material produced during the professional qualification. The purpose is to examine the effectiveness of that Program on high school mathematics and portuguese teachers aiming to improve educational quality indicators in Maranhão. The teachers felt encouraged to participate in the items elaboration workshops throughout the project, which enabled them to elaborate those items from the qualification emerging data. The results show that the activities favored the understanding of the item format in mathematics and portuguese. In addition, such tasks provided effective participation of teachers in discussions and in the search for a better way to apply the item format in school tests. |
