Its tubers are oval, with shallow eyes, slightly rough skin, yellow flesh and low susceptibility to post-harvest greening. The vine maturity and tuber dormancy are medium. It is moderately susceptible to late and early blight. ‘BRS Gaia’ has an intermediate level of resistance (tolerance) to bacterial wilt, which gives it a significant comparative advantage over traditional cultivars for disease management in areas infested by the bacteria Ralstonia solanacearum. It has low susceptibility to tuber deformation due to high temperature. Although the main destination is for the fresh market, ‘BRS Gaia’ can also be used by restaurants for fresh cut fries and for processing into shoestrings. 'BRS Gaia' was released in 2023 through Embrapa’s potato breeding program, developed by Embrapa Clima Temperado, in Pelotas-RS and Canoinhas-SC, and Embrapa Hortaliças, in Brasilia-DF, Brazil.ARIONE DA SILVA PEREIRA, CPACTGIOVANI OLEGARIO DA SILVA, CNPHAGNALDO DONIZETE FERREIRA DE CARVALHO, CPACCAROLINE MARQUES CASTRO, CPACTBEATRIZ MARTI EMYGDIO, CPACTFERNANDA QUINTANILHA AZEVEDO, CPACTANTONIO CESAR BORTOLETTO, CPACTEBERSON DIEDRICH EICHOLZ, CPACTCARLOS FRANCISCO RAGASSI, CNPHBERNARDO UENO, CPACTJULIANA HEY CORADIN, CPACTLEONARDO FERREIRA DUTRA, CPACTCARLOS ALBERTO LOPES, CNPHJADIR BORGES PINHEIRO, CNPHVALDIR LOURENCO JUNIOR, CNPHCESAR BAUER GOMES, CPACTMIRTES FREITAS LIMA, CNPHNATERCIA LOBATO PINHEIRO LIMA, CPACTIRIANI RODRIGUES MALDONADE, CNPHLUCIMEIRE PILON, CNPHNUBIA MARILIN LETTNIN FERRI, CPACTANA CRISTINA RICHTER KROLOW, CPACTROGERIO OLIVEIRA JORGE, CPACTLUIS ANTONIO SUITA DE CASTRO, CPACTNELSON PIRES FELDBERG, CPACTGUSTAVO HEIDEN, CPACTCARLOS REISSER JUNIOR, CPACTMARCIA VIZZOTTO FOSTER, CPACT.2025-04-08T14:58:02Z2025-04-08T14:58:02Z2025-04-082025info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/article7 p.Horticultura Brasileira, v. 43, 2025, elocation e289822.http://www.alice.cnptia.embrapa.br/alice/handle/doc/1174627http://dx.doi.org/10.1590/s0102-0536-2025- e289822enginfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Repositório Institucional da EMBRAPA (Repository Open Access to Scientific Information from EMBRAPA - Alice)instname:Empresa Brasileira de Pesquisa Agropecuária (Embrapa)instacron:EMBRAPAPEREIRA, A. da S.SILVA, G.
