Summary:One of the challenges of current education must be to reform the educational space and adapt it to the dizzying changes in information, higher education is one of the sectors most influenced by the development of technological communication networks that have become a tool that allows collaborative learning and involves spaces for the exchange of information that encourage cooperation and interaction. Web 2.0 is the resource that must be implemented since it gives us new styles of developing knowledge and establishes educational challenges, with the advancement of technology and the evolution of the Web, where Teachers and Students must interact, record and permanently. This article describes the experience carried out with university students, based on online group work, of the use of web 2.0 tools. The objective is to evaluate web 2.0 tools as a didactic strategy in three Universities of the City of Portoviejo-Manabí. Ecuador. The methodology was framed in a qualitative study, an online survey was applied to 643 Students and 277 Teachers consisting of 12 variables, applying the descriptive statistical analysis, they allow us to verify that in the universities of study they have as a higher priority the use of Blogger and Google Docs, with Google Drive, Twitter, Wikipedia tools as less priority. It is concluded that the use of these tools allowed them to discover a new way of working and learning.
