The modern secularized society creates new opportunities to religious specialists and their religious organizations who wish to relate religious interests to distinct social interests, in order to seek, through religion, satisfaction to their demands and needs. This article intends to discuss the relationship between religion and secularized society, as well as observe the strategies, opportunities and challenges of an independent Pentecostal pastor, i.e., Romilton Oliveira while trying to live for and off religion in this society. Analyzing his family origin, conversion and ecclesiastic career, I intend to exam the religious career of this Pentecostal pastor. Moreover, analyzing the Pentecostal religious organization created by Romilton, I seek to exam the primary and non-primary functions developed by the religious organization in order to survive and influence the individuals, demonstrating, in this way, how religion influences and is influenced by other social spheres. |

Este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir la relación entre la religión y la sociedad secularizada, así como observar las estrategias, oportunidades y desafíos de un pastor pentecostal autónomo, a saber, Romilton Oliveira, en un intento de vivir por la religión y la religión en esta sociedad. A través del análisis de su origen familiar, la conversión y la carrera eclesiástica, buscamos examinar la carrera religiosa de este pastor pentecostal. Además, al analizar la organización religiosa pentecostal fundada por el pastor Romilton, se pretende examinar las funciones primarias y no primarias ejercidas por la organización religiosa para sobrevivir e influir en los individuos, demostrando así cómo la religión influye y es influenciada por las demás esferas sociales.A sociedade secularizada moderna cria novas oportunidades para os especialistas religiosos e suas organizações que desejem relacionar interesses religiosos a distintos interesses sociais, a fim de buscar, através da religião, satisfação para suas demandas e necessidades.
