Descripción
Sumario:After 20 years of processing, on July 15th, 2020, the new legal framework for basic sanitation in Brazil was sanctioned. Much has already been discussed in the scientific and political sphere on the norms and whether it will really combat one of the national historical problems: environmental racism. This article aims to address the issue of environmental racism within the context of the new standard, as well as whether through it will be implemented the UN SDG No. 06, which deals with access to basic sanitation. To this end, a bibliographical research was carried out, based on scientific articles and legislation in addition to official data in order to verify whether the 2030 Agenda will be effectively implemented in this context. In the end, it is possible to see that the path is arduous and that behavioral and educational changes need to be taken, in addition to a social collection with the Federal Public.
