| Sumario: | Several studies on newsworthiness seek to know the logic of the gear that produces news and, often, go through fittings and disembarks with close concepts, such as news values and newsworthiness criteria. Considering that these concepts are often used without distinction, this essay has the motivation to re-mark the difference between them, to insist on the non-reductionism of the newsworthiness concept and to spell out more non-simplification regarding news values, one of the many criteria of newsworthiness. I return to issues dealt with in a previous work of 2005, to expose with more emphasis this complex network in which an event, among so many, gains power to be transfigured into a journalistic event, observing the nature of different factors that act in the path that occurs from the newsworthy to the reported An intricate path, drawn together by a production line that crystallizes operations throughout history and by scattered traits of society drives into its times, places and cultures. |
