| Resumo: | Since the mid-2010s, the Brazilian labor market has faced crises marked by an increase in informality and joblessness. The Covid-19 pandemic has exacerbated the situation, resulting in the loss of more than 10 million jobs in 2020, with a slow recovery thereafter. In contrast, platform jobs, which have emerged since 2016, have shown significant growth. However, quantifying and qualifying these jobs is challenging due to the lack of adequate measurement tools. This article seeks to contribute to the debate on concepts and statistical tools for measuring these occupations in Brazil and to provide an overview of platform jobs, focusing specifically on drivers and delivery workers – a professional group that has seen significant growth in recent years. The analysis uses the IBGE's continuous household sample survey (PNADC) to compare the periods before and after the emergence of platforms. |
