| Summary: | Professional master's degrees have been gaining more and more space in Brazilian graduate studies, however this expansion has occurred in a heterogeneous way in different areas. In the field of Social Sciences, this type of post-graduation is still a recent experience, and is still quite incipient in the areas of Anthropology and Sociology. In order to contribute to the debate, this article analyzes the profile of professional masters in Social Sciences and their relationship with education in Education, focusing on master's degrees from the Joaquim Nabuco Foundation, the University of Pernambuco and the State University of Maringá. We examine the research areas, the curriculum and the profile of the graduates of the programs, as well as the academic profile of the professors. |
