Resumo:In recent years, the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul has been prioritizing the teaching qualification, mainly of doctors. As a result of this initiative, new Postgraduate courses have been created, responding to a demand from the state of Rio Grande do Sul and neighboring states and countries. Currently, PUCRS has 14 master's and 6 doctoral courses, and those already evaluated by CAPES are in the A or B classification. In the specific case of the Famecos, the experience accumulated with its Postgraduate in Specialization level, the first in the south of the country, implemented in 1978, points out the necessary preconditions for the implementation of the Master course in this area.
