Descrição
Resumo:This article investigates the process of criminalization of collective action in Rio de Janeiro between June 2013 and July 2014. The study is done through the analysis of the police inquiry of the case of the “23 World Cup prisoners”, which resulted in the indictment of 23 political activists for criminal association. The four categories presented by Michel Misse - criminalization in the strict sense, crimination, incrimination, and criminal subjection - are used to examine the characteristics of the criminalization process. It was found that criminalization in the strict sense occurred due to the Criminal Organizations Law and that criminal subjection was a result of the construction of the vandal social type. In addition, particularities of crimination and incrimination in the crime of criminal association were identified.
