| Resumo: | Christian spirituality carries the mark of care with life. From the earliest times, starting with the life of Jesus until our own times, the evangelical understanding is about the total care with life. However, it was with Leo XIII, in the 19th century, that the Church's Magisterium published the first social document. Since then until our days, the popes have maintained a certain regularity in the publication of this type of document, enriching the corpus of Social Doctrine. The Church in Latin America has also contributed to the reflection with four other documents. Here we propose to give an general overview of the Church's Social Doctrine, reflecting about the dignity of the human person, the several manners of attacks on life and, in the end, reaching the reflection about charity, the motor principle of the whole Social Doctrine and propeller of a real social commitment based on Christian spirituality. |
