Resumo:The purpose of this article is to explore the offer of serial narratives in the Argentinian Public Television between 2009 and 2015, in order to determine whether they contribute to strengthening the principles of television quality promoted by the state-owned broadcaster in that period. To this end, four fiction series directed by renowned Argentinian filmmakers and dramatists were selected for analysis. These productions were examined according to parameters established by recent researches which are set to evaluate television quality: its educational value, its technical quality and its social interest. The analysis also shows the existence of a bidirectional legitimation strategy, by involving artists who are prestigious in their country's cultural field, in the television project.
