Resumo:Hermilio Valdizán is undoubtedly one of the most important personalities of Peruvian medicine of all time. This doctor San Fernandino of provincial origin in a very short time managed to build the cultural building on which the Peruvian medicine of the twentieth century would be built. We hold that this project was the construction of a new framework of Peruvian social and cultural modernization from medicine, which is explained through the various milestones in the academic and public life of Valdizán and is expressed in the magazine that he founded , the Annals of the Faculty.
