| Resumo: | The paper explains the peculiarities of the poetic gender called blasón thatRubén Dario assumes in the poem of the same name. It shows that Darío’snotion of blasón introduces substantial changes to this gender, which originally implies the praise of a shield, and uses it as an ars poetica. So thepoems entitled “Blasón” of Jose Santos Chocano and Jose María Eguren,according to Dario, become the expression of an aesthetic program throughthree recurring images: a bird and/or the so-called “American nature”,and/or of the poetic voice that declares its fierce singularity. |
